Lt Col Kamuntu Takes Over as UPDF Motorised Infantry Division Operations and Training Officer
Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Taremwa Kamuntu has officially assumed office as the Division Operations and Training Officer of the UPDF Motorized Infantry Division, pledging to strengthen operational efficiency and training standards following a handover ceremony at the Division Headquarters.

Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Taremwa Kamuntu has officially assumed office as the Division Operations and Training Officer (DOTO) of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Motorized Infantry Division following a formal handover ceremony held at the Division Headquarters.

The ceremony was presided over by the Division Commander, Major General Charles Byanyima, who oversaw the handover from the outgoing DOTO, Colonel Esibio Obuyere Omaria, to Lt Col Kamuntu.

Maj Gen Byanyima commended Col Omaria for his service and contribution to the Division during his tenure.

“Col Omaria demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and endurance during his tenure, and made a significant contribution to the Division’s operational readiness and training effectiveness,” he said.

In his remarks, Col Omaria expressed gratitude to the UPDF leadership for the opportunity to serve in the role.

“I express appreciation to the UPDF leadership for the opportunity to serve in a key role within the Division, particularly in strengthening technical training and supporting operational objectives,” he said.

Lt Col Kamuntu thanked the UPDF leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility and pledged to work closely with the Division leadership and staff to enhance operational efficiency and training standards.

The ceremony was attended by senior and junior UPDF officers, Brigade Operations and Training Officers, and heads of departments under the Motorized Infantry Division.
